Sustain Mechanical Engineer - Strauss Water

Key Responsibilities:

• Full technical ownership of assigned product lines throughout their lifecycle, serving as the senior engineering authority for sustaining activities.
• Lead mechanical design changes in existing multidisciplinary products to improve quality, reliability, serviceability, manufacturability, and customer experience.
• Drive cost-reduction initiatives (VAVE / Cost Down) through redesign of mechanical and electromechanical assemblies, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Lead and execute root cause analysis (RCA) for field failures and production issues, defining and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Provide ongoing engineering support to manufacturing lines and service organizations, including hands-on troubleshooting and design optimization.
• Design and develop jigs, fixtures, test equipment, and manufacturing tools for assembly lines and validation processes.
• Manage engineering changes with global suppliers and contract manufacturers, including plastics, injection molds, CNC machining, sheet metal, piping, and turnkey electromechanical assemblies
• Lead First Article Inspection (FAI) processes for new parts, tools, and suppliers, including qualification and approval activities.

Requirements:

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering – mandatory. M.Sc. – advantage
• 10 years of engineering experience in multidisciplinary products within mass production environments
• 4 years of hands-on mechanical design or product development experience
• Proven experience with electromechanical systems; preference for consumer products, water systems, fluid handling, heating, or cooling products
• Strong background working in cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams (mechanics, electronics, software)
• Deep understanding of manufacturing technologies, including: Plastic injection molding, Sheet metal, Extrusion, Casting, Machining and assembly processes
